Hi,I am Diwashish Biswas (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Crestor and urination problem. I am a 41 year old male 30lbs overweight. I have a family history of heart attacks (father and Grandfather at 57) I was put on 10 mg Crestor and it dropped my cholesterol from 245 to 167. When I asked about switching to the generic he said that we shouldn t mess with success. He said he would if it caused me serious financial distress but since it was working, we shouldn t mess with it. However, I started to have frequent urination problems especially at night. I would urinate lie down and then need to urinate again. I would also have the urge to urinate but not the ability. It would keep me awake for hours. The problem got worse when the insurance company I have, would only cover the 20 mg and told me to cut the pills in half. I stopped taking the statin as well as the vitamins that I had been taking and the urination problem went away. I am now adding back in the vitamins because I think it is the Crestor.
