What Are The Side Effects Of Inhaling Mercury Vapors?

A crematorium is planned to be adjacent to our elementary school. Based on what I have read, I am concerned about my child inhaling mercury vapors. Although the funeral home states the levels are insignificant, this does not relieve my fears. From a medical stand point, knowing this is a neurotoxin what more should I be asking?

Hello
Mercury if inorganic is absorbed in gut and skin.
But in crematorium mercury if an ORGANIC type & absorbed through INHALATION & INGESTION..Organic mercury crosses blood brain barrier & placenta ( dangerous in pregnant lady)
Acute inhalation of mercury causes pneumonitis & noncardiogenic pulmonary edema leading to death,CNS symptoms & polyneuropathy.
Chronic high exposure causes CNS toxicity ,lower exposure impair renal function, motor speed , memory coordination.
.Ingestion of chronic mercury causes gastro-enteritis acute renal failure and many more diseases.
Cerebellum is most effected organ in mercury poisoning .
Hope this is a good information for you.
