What Are The Side Effects Of Loop Diathermy Procedure?

hi i have to have a loop diathermy procedure done on the cervix, i am wanting to know if there are any side effects after the procedure, hormonal and emotional. I am very nervous about procedure also as have never had to have any operation or go to hospital besides giving birth. will i need to have a general anesthetic or just a local anesthetic, which would be better for me as i am very frightened and nervous about the whole thing. Is it common for the pre cancerous cells to re appear after procedure at next 6 monthly check. Can you tell me anything else about the procedure that i should know. thankyou kind regards jaime.
