What Are The Side Effects Of Missing A Metoprolol Dose?

Am short 1 tab 50 mg metropolol , my order is 50 mg bid, no dose for tonight, Will p/u refill tmrw AM What is the risk of skipping tonight? Would using Atenolol from previous script help? Is the risk significant enough to go to 24hr pharm and beg a tide over dose. Usually don t let this happen, but wk sked got away from me. 4 days of 12 hr shifts hospice nurse

Thank you for your question! I understand your concern about missing a dose therapi; but don't worry to much, because no any serious problem happens after that. I don't know te reason you are having metoprolol (high blood pressure, or arrhythmia, etc) but anyway it doesn't matter to much. Beta-blockers demonstrate rebound effects when they are interrupted abruptly but it doesn't happen to be in that case. So don't worry, just take the soon as you can the missing dose ( when you provide it) and continue the manteinance regimen.
