Hello,

I can understand your concern. It is very difficult to predict what can happen after stopping Estratest as while some women are agonized with hot flashes, mood swings, fatigue, sleeplessness etc., other women feel nothing at all.

However, tapering the dose gradually over 3 to 6 months will make it easier for you to get your body used to without supplementing the hormone. After stopping the drug completely, you should observe symptoms for 2 to 3 months and based on the severity of the withdrawal symptoms, decision regarding starting it again can be taken.

There is nothing that you can do to stop the breast cancer, but you can have a closer observation of it. Go for mammography on regular intervals and if you notice any lump in the breast, do not ignore it and visit the doctor immediately for examination.

I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Take care.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
