What Are The Side Effects Of Taking Clofert For PCOD?

hello doctor...I would like to know whether clofert increases chances of multiple births.. I have been given clofert for symptoms of pcod.I have started the medicine from the second day of my menstrual cycle...I have read in a an article, like it should be started on 5th day of menstrual cycle for five consecutive days...would you please clear my doubt

Clofert ( clomifine).
Indication "Anovulatory infertility:50 mg daily for 5 day starting on 5th day of menstrual cycle or at any time if there is amenoorhea ( this is not in your case because you started bleeding), if ovulation does not occurs, a 2nd course of 100 mg for 5 days may be used commencing as early as 30 days after the previous therapy. Further treatment may not be recommended if pregnancy has not occurred after a total 6 treatment cycles.
I think you will satisfy with this reply.
As far as concerned about multiple pregnancy , yes this is the side effect but side effects can be lessen if started with low doses as 50 mg.
