What Are The Side Effects Of Trimethoprim?

Hi, I have been prescribed a 7 day course of trimethoprim to treat cystitis. I read that normally a short, 3day course is normally used. I only have mild discomfort so could I just take 3 days worth? Also I am nervous about the side effects because I have read that they can make you feel very sick etc.
