What Are The Side Effects Of Using Norethisterone?

I took norithisterone on the first day of my last period to try and stop the bleeding but it din t work and I stopped taking it after 3 days. My period then continued for another 7 days (so lasted 10 days in total), My next period is now 7 days late could this bee caused by taking the norethisterone?
