Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
Retinal infection is usually rare and it presents with pain, redness of eye, watering and loss of vision.
The symptoms of flashes of light indicate retinal tear. Since you have undergone surgery for retinal detachment you require to undergo retinal examination by indirect ophthalmoscopy to find out any retinal tear and treatment by laser photo coagulation.
Hence I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist for examination and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
