What Are The Signs Of Vertigo?

Hello, what is a way to tell when vertigo is coming on. I am 67 I have been hit by it three times in my life, years apart. It last about 3 hours, not the room spinning, but the dizziness. The latest episode was today, without the spinning but dizziness and nausea. I lay down breath deep, drink room temperature water and ginger candy helps the nausea. Please let me know. Julie

Hi,

Vertigo is mostly due to imbalance in fluid of ear.

Causes:

1. Infections in ear, 2. Common cold 3. Electrolyte disturbances by any way

Symptoms:

1. Spinning of surrounding (instead of spinning of body in dizziness)

2. Its most of the time with movement of head (while going to bed, staircase, waking up from the bed etc.)

3. With vomiting sometimes it resolves by treating underlying cause till that Stemetil 5mg can be given as symptomatic treatment up to TDS.
