What Are The Symptoms And Treatment For Tonsillitis?
hello I have a 2 1/2 yr old who is presenting a right red and swollen tonsil. She also has started coughing while lying down and its a gagging cough. Could this be tonsillitis or strep? She is having difficulty sleeping due to gagging cough. She will be seeing dr in am but do u have any suggestions until then?

Her symptoms are suggestive of tonsillitis. For this reason, I recommend consulting with her attending physician for a physical exam and a throat bacterial culture to check for strep infection.
