What Are The Symptoms Of ADD In A Child?

My daughter is in denial about my grandson could possibly have ADD/ADHA. He is in 4th or 5th. His grades have dropped from A-B to low C-Ds, needs constant reminder to do things, nothing is every his faught, lies, unorganized, doesn t finish chores, and easily distracted. Are these early signs of ADD or ADHD? He plays basketball year round. They have pulled him from that, taken his phone, and things they feel would matter to correct things but it doesn t bother him when they do. His parents have kept structured discipline and routines, but has recently began to have issues with excessive talking and behavior type problems at school. What does she need to do

Yeah, those would be symptoms. Frankly the most agreed on diagnostic test is to see that the medicines improve things rapidly and dramatically.

However, there are a large number of other causes. ADHD is genetic. If it isn't present from childhood or if there is a sharp change you'd have to consider other causes such as abuse, trauma, drugs, illness, bad eyesight, and many others.
