Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have probable bahcets disease only recently discovered as I have monthly ulcer outbreaks originally and misdiagnosed for 20 years as being herpes!! I am 37 now and have suffered greatly. Unfortunately I am now experiencing other symptoms. My bones aches from the inside out I'm exhausted all the time have regular migraine headaches and just feel generally unwell. I thought perhaps all these symptoms were related to the bahcets but now I'm not so sure......worried and sick of being sick and tired and in agony...any ideas??
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern. Behcet's disease is a rare genetic disorder of mucous membranes of body & patient has symptoms of recurrent oral aphthous ulcers, genital ulcers, and uveitis (inflammation of uvea part of eye) . Other symptoms include abdominal pain, nausea, and diarrhea with or without blood. As you have only oral ulcers, you cannot be having behcets disease.
However headaches due to meningitis may be there in patient with behcet disease you cannot be labelled as having behcets disease on just re-occuring oral ulcers & migranous heaaches.
Hope this information helps
