Hi, I started my period mid-day on Sunday. It is now Wednesday and when I woke up this morning I wasn’t bleeding very heavily but still bleeding and my periods last about 5 days normally. I went for a walk/jog and put a super tampon in, and about 2 hours later I removed it. There was blood on it but now that I’ve had it out for about 2 hours I haven’t bled at all. Did the tampon cause my period to stop??? Is it delayed and will come back? Should I be worried about TSS?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Tampon does not cause to stop bleeding ,tampon is not changed regularly it can lead to toxic shock syndrome due to staphylococcus infection superantigen. It is rare so don't worry about it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
