What Are The Symptoms Of Appendicitis?

What are the symptoms of appendicitis? My 24yr old healthy son has developed a fever today of 103.8+, the lower back of his head is aching, and he is having off-and-on pain in his lower right side. He did an online check and said he can still pass gas, so it prob isn t that. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you

Hello, welcome to HCM. Temp is very high . please give him Dolo 650mg three times. This relieves fever and pain. In appendicitis, Pain should be there in the lower right flank area. when he stretches his right thigh it should increase. if he flexes his right thigh then the pain will decrease. Just press in that area and there should be severe pain. Fever can be there related to appendicitis if infection is there. Headache is due to high temperature.Better show it to surgeon who can pick the appendicitis clinical signs. You can get one scan which will pick only if there is severe swelling with surrounding inflammatory reactions.To ruleout other conditions ask your son if motion is abnormal,smelly,mucous. If these are seen then there is some food poisoning. Accordingly antibiotic should be given.
