What Are The Symptoms Of Cyst?

I have a cyst or boil or something and I want to know if I can wait until after the holiday to get it checked out- the puss (or whatever it is) is coming out in solid globs. it's white/light yellow in color. I know I shouldn't but I was picking at it, and there was also material that I was pulling out that was almost like cotton- it was kinda of strand-like and could be pulled apart.
