Hello,

diabetes has nothing to do with the ant incident. Ants go wherever they can find organic material to eat. The classical symptoms of diabetes are excessive thirst, increased urine output and weight loss. It could be suspected or proven with a blood or urine test. Usually glucose in urinalysis points to diabetes (but not always).
Since your child is very young, you should probably rely on its general appearance and growth. If the child is active and growing then it's probably healthy. If you still need to be sure, then a blood test will be helpful.
The cloth is not a reliable indicator though.
I hope I've addressed your concerns!
If you need further clarifications, please let me know. I'll be glad to provide them for you.

Kind Regards!
