What Are The Symptoms Of Gallstones Which Indicate A Need For A Surgery?

Last year after a scan of my liver, I was told I have gallstones. I started having gut pain this evening, which is not a normal feeling for me & also belching. What should I be aware of to know if there is a possibility of surgery in my near future?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Please note that if gallstones are giving symptoms (such as pain or heaviness in upper abdomen after meals or nausea), then they need surgery. If gallstones cause inflammation of gallbladder then also surgery is needed. Silent gallstones are left unattended. Till surgery avoid fatty meals. If pain appear you may take antispasmodic as tablet Drotaverine.
