Hi,
Welcome to HCM.

Herpes would not appear as cuts or fissures whereas anal fissures do. Herpes appear as grouped vesicles containing clear fluid followed by tiny grouped ulcerations over the affected area. Sometimes these ulcers coalesced together to form a large single painful reddish ulcer. In a normal immuno-competent individual these lesions will heal spontaneously within 2 weeks with or without treatment. But recurrences are common. If you don't have any history of anal sex, your's may be likely to be due to Anal fissures of non STD origin. It depends upon your sexual activity and the appearance on examination..
