What Are The Symptoms Of Miscarriage?

I had a discharge during my period which looked a bit like chicken skin and was about 5 cms long... I've read what everyone has said, some say it's a miscarriage and others say it's the lining of the uterus, others said it is a cervical polyp. What is it please?
