Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son age 10 year, having total bilirubin 7.1 and direct bilirubin 6.4, SGOT153 SGPT 28, having lot of itching all over the body and yellow eyes. his ultra sound report is normal about lever, kidney, pancreas, spleen etc. i want to know which type of hepatitus he is effect with. what treatment i should follow. at present he is given medicine Rantec, B complex.
Your child is having conjugated hyperbilirubenima. Following can be the causes:
- Viral hepatitis - Drug induced - Dubin Johnson and rotor syndrome like congenital syndrome - Biliary atresia - Stone in bile canaliculi - Parasitic bile canaliculi infection etc
Abdominal USG scan is done first for that. If needed CT scan or MRCP like higher investigation is done (if needed). If needed udiliv can be prescribed. According to cause, specific treatment can be planned. Consult a gastroenterologist for examination and accordingly do the work up.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Parth Goswami
