I had my last periods on 22nd Nov 2014. Now its been 45 days and I havent got my periods yet. I dont experience any kind of pregnancy symptoms. Should I go for a OTC Pregnancy test before meeting the doc(I have booked a OBS-GYN doc appointment on 8th Jan 2015)

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. - Few women do not have usual pregnancy signs ( nausea, vomiting, dizziness, capricious appetite, ) except delay in periods till about 5-6 weeks of pregnancy/ some may not have it any time in spite of being pregnant. - And delay in period need not be pregnancy every time. * In such a scenario, pregnancy test is the only differentiating thing. You can get it done any time now- as you are already 15 days overdue. Alternatively, when you already have an appointment with Gynecologist- the doctor will get it done along with few other tests as per the indication after examining you. Thanks.
