Dear Patient,

symptoms of early pregnancy can be f. ex. tension in the breasts or feeling dizzy or nauseaus. These signs may or may not occur and therefor are not totally reliable. If the period is now almost a week over due you should do a common urine test for pregnancy. If it is negative, repeat it after 2 days. If it is still negative and the period still doesn't come you should see your gynacologist in town to check for other reasons for the period not to come like inflammations of the ovary or tube. If it is positive, see your gynacologist right away. There is no way to prevent a pregnancy from happening except proper anticontraception. Once a pregnancy is happening the only way to stop it, would be an early abortion done by a doctor specialized on that. If your gf is positive you may want to talk this through in a quiet moment, also your gynacologist can give you further advise on that. Hope this helps you. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help. Best regards
