What Are The Symptoms Of Swollen Lymph Node?

I have a painful lump behind my left ear just infront of the occipital bone. There is a vein that is very obvious in this area. I am in the midst of being diagnosed with Scleroderma and have had phlebitis before. I'm wondering if this is just a lymph node and maybe i'm going to get sick soon or if i should head to the emergency room. I feel puffy in the face and stiff in the neck.
