What Are The Symptoms Of Thyroid Dysfunction?

What are the symptoms of thyroid issues. I have a very heavy sweat problem plus my body muscles ache all the time. At night I have to get out of bed because my muscles feel like they are on fire. Also my wife has had lots of back surgeries. Now she has muscle spasms that make her knees give out and she stumbles around. Could this be sciatic nerve issues?
