Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Are The Symptoms Of Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease?
eGFR has been erratic over the past year or so, ranging from 73 to over 100. Was 87 in September. As of May 5, it is 60--lowest ever. Have mild undifferentiated connective tissue disorder for which I take Plaqeunil, but no other problems, though blood pressure has gone from low in the fall to a bit elevated the last few times I have seen a doctor. What should my next step be? PCP said wait a month and retest eGFR. Also, was unable to produce a urine specimen that day, so they were unable to see if there was protein or blood in my urine. Sigh...so worried.
The following is the eGFR chart: >90 - normal 60-89 - mild loss of kidney function stage 2 45-59 - stage 3a 30-44 - stage 3b 15-29 - stage 4
So, your eGFR falls under mild kidney disease. It is to be repeated after 1 month or 15 days. If the same result appears then further investigations to find out the cause of lowered kidney function is done. Urine examination is a very important test and next time please make sure you give the sample. You don't need to worry as it was only one time 60 and mild dehydration can also led to lowered eGFR.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
