Hello, and I hope I can help you today.

The date of conception is known exactly with IVF, as it corresponds with your transfer date. Therefore, there really cannot be a discrepancy in the ultrasound dating with an IVF pregnancy.

However, it can be too early to see a heartbeat on a 6 week ultrasound.

Usually, a heartbeat can be seen in 7 weeks, which is why you were recommended to have another one at that time.

I hope I was adequately answer your question today and I wish you the best for the rest of the pregnancy,

Dr. Brown
