What Are The Treatments For Amenorrhea?

i am 14years old and i have pco syndrome but also secondary amenorrhea i developed rapid hair growth on my chest , stomach and back. Also i developed facial hair on my face which is formed as a man's beard .I am overweight and when i was 11 years and 5 month i had started my period. I had my period for about 4 month and then it suddenly stop. I havent had my period for 3 years . Its also very hard for me to lose weight as i am very active , i do plenty of exercise and i am very good at football and netball. What solution do you have for me to help me lose weight quicker , start on my period again and get rid of the excessive hair on my face, body, stomach and back ? Also it would be great support as at the moment i have no confidence at all and its ruining my school life. I would also like you to help me out with the facial hair on face , i wax my face every week because the hair is so dark and like i had said i have a man beard and the hair is thick and black.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Though you are active, weight loss is easier achieved by changes in diet. With PCOS, studies have been done on the low carb diet.

This would mean restricting your use of normal sodas and fruit drinks(use diet). It also means reducing other high carb foods such as rice/pasta/potato/bread/biscuits.
Meals are mostly a form of protein with vegetables and/or salad.

In addition there are medications that your doctor can start you on that can reduce the effect of the PCOS. You should ask your parent or guardian to take you for a review.

I hope this helps
