What Are The Treatments For Burning Feeling And Rashes On Head, Shoulders And Arm?

Hi my husband felt a burning feeling on his head, shoulders, and arm a week ago. Feels like a sunburn. We have been traveling a lot and he has been eating a lot of shrimp. After a week he woke up this morning with a rash in those spots. His left arm and shoulder are very week.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

It seems that your husband may be having herpes zoster. It is a viral infection caused by VZV virus. The disease occurs in zonal appearance. And there may be mild to severe burning pain. I advise you to consult dermatologist immediately to have firm diagnosis and proper treatment. Antiviral like acyclovir in proper dose may be prescribed along with steroids in tappering doses. Anti inflammatory and analgesic drugs may be taken. Silver sulfadiazine cream may enhance the improvement. Relax, he may be alright. I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
