What Are The Treatments For High CBC Level Of 14.9 With Headaches?

I have had 2 CBC s in the last month and the 2nd came back higher than the first - 1st was 12.5 and the 2nd was 14.9. I have severe headaches and pain on my left side under my rib cage. I m very concerned as my doctor has mentioned sending me to a hematologist if my WBC is still high in 2 weeks.

In your C B C only W B C is high ( 4000-10000 or 11000 cmm) ,may be due to .
1 Infection , this is the most common cause of high W B Cs count . In my opinion at present need not to consult an hematologist rather consult a physician ( primary ) and get his opinion.
2 As you mentioned that there is pain in the head with pain on the left side of rib cage , so this may be due to consolidation in the lower part of left lung lobe . As this consolidation also causes high W B Cs count . Diagnosis can be confirmed by X ray chest.
3 Rarest possibility may be due to leukaemia ( I said nil possibility because in this disease usually w b cs increases very rapidly ). Still wait for 1-2 day and get in blood examination for W B C , if very high than it is a cause of concern.
In my opinion at present need not to worry so just consult a primary care physician and get his opinion.
