What Are The Treatments For Itchy Sores On Back Which Are Not Healing?
Hi Dr. Grief, I have itching sores on my back that don't seem to heal up even tho I rub prescription ointment on a regular basis. I've shown several Drs. One thought it may be scabies and prescribed medication. Nothing seems to work. I have always had flawless olive skin tone, so this is very unpleasant. What can I do other than see a dermatologist? Thank you, Darlene

Hello, Welcome to HCM, As you are getting these itchy sore for quite sometime it looks like you may be having allergic reactions like eczema. Scabies generally affects the web spaces of hands and foot and it will go off, if you have taken treatment for the same. I would suggest you to test for absolute eosinophill count to know the presence of any allergic reactions. You can also test for skin prick test to know whether your allergic to any food, dust, mites and the chemicals. By identifying the cause for your symptoms we can think about further course of management. Thank you.
