Hi, He may need to be on regular treatment to control asthma attacks but it will be a step up or down therapy as need of different inhalers and oral medication may vary from single medicine to multiple depending upon symptoms so follow up with a physician is preferable. He should also be needing Monteleukast sodium at night and inhalers may vary with his symptoms however a long acting beta agonist and inhalatory steroid may be needed. Side effects vary though with medicine he is currently using he may experience fast heart rate, and mild tremors. Take care. Hope I have answered your question.
