What Are The Uses And Side Effects Of Selenious Yeast Medication?

I have been treated for hyperthyroidism for the last 18 months. My T3 and T4 levels are now in the normal range but my antibodies are still 2500+ so the doctor has given me selenious yeast medication. I was just wondering what this medication will do?
