Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Hydroxyzine is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body and reduces activity in the central nervous system.

This drug is used as a sedative to treat anxiety and tension and also to treat allergic skin reactions.

Nortriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant. It is used to treat symptoms of depression. The dosage is decided by your treating doctor and depends to the gravity of your symptoms and other coexistent conditions/diseases that you may have.
Nortriptiline can be used off label for other reasons, such as insomnia and/or pain.

Both Hydralazine and Nortriptiline can induce sleep but i recommend to consult your doctor before you try any new drug to help you sleep.

Trazodone is another medication that is used to treate depression and it It may help to decrese insomnia related to depression.

The first two drugs are not like Alprazolam.Alprazolam belongs to a class of medications called benzodiazepines which act on the brain and nerves (central nervous system) to produce a calming effect.

As i said earlie,my advice is to consult your treating doctor before you start a new medication because it can have serious side effects and it can be dangerous for you.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
