What Are The Various Birth Control Options?

Hi, I believe that life begins at conception, so I am looking for a birth control option that does not prevent a fertilized egg from attaching to the uterus wall. Many of the options I ve researched have a primary function of preventing ovulation, but then a secondary measure of thinning the uterus lining so that if fertilization occurs the baby will pass, unable to attach. I m hoping there is something that either prevents ovulation 100% of the time or does not thin the lining of the uterus so that if fertilization does occur, the baby will survive. Does anything like this exist? What are my options?

Hello,
Thanks for the question. However, I would like to make one point very clear right from the beginning. There is no drug that is 100% effective. Even permanent birth control measures like tubectomy or vasectomy have a failure rate of 0.5 to 1%.
Coming to your question now, ocp (oral contraceptive pills) are preferred drugs for young women mostly. It's because that it mimics your normal menstrual cycle by maintaining the normal hormonal levels. This inturn makes you ovulate and shed it in a regular fashion. My advise for you would be ocp although it is not 100% effective. If you have trouble taking drugs daily then it's advisable to opt for an implant. These implants are subdermal placed under the skin and has different life span of 2-5 years. Ocp with condoms can be considered as the best effective method for you based on my experience. Good luck.
