What Are Yellowish Dots On Inner Cheeks Suggestive Of?
My dentist told me that I have yellowish dots in both my inner cheek. He said its abnormal. They don't hurt and I have always felt them there but never worried about it. They don't hurt. I don't smoke or drink but did when I was younger for a short period of time. I have made an appointment with my doctor. I was just curious if it seems like something that can develop to cancer?
As per your complain yellowish dots on the inner cheeks that are painless and hurt seems to be nothing but Sebaceous Hyperplasia that is slightly raised sebaceous glands known as FORDYCS'S GRANULES/ FORDYCE'S SPOTS. They generally appear as clusters of small dots over the inner cheeks starting from the corners of mouth. They are normal anatomical structures and are not signs of any pathology.
I would however suggest you to consult an oral physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation is generally sufficient for diagnosis. Fordyces spots do not need any treatment and treatment can be done by removing with lasers which is only needed if they are cosmetically unsighty.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Honey Arora
