Hello,
Your result of 7.9 mIU/mL falls in the borderline range. The reading means that you either very early in
pregnancy (if
implantation happened recently), or it is a false positive or residual hormone from another cause. No, Meprate does not affect hCG results. 25 mIU/mL beta hCG level is considered positive for pregnancy. Please remain calm. Repeat β-hCG test after 10 days.
In a healthy early pregnancy, hCG doubles every 2–3 days. If it stays the same or falls, pregnancy is unlikely. Have patience. If still uncertain, get a
transvaginal ultrasound (after 5–6 weeks from your last period) to check if a
gestational sac is visible.
If period doesn’t start even after stopping Meprate for 7–10 days, you are advised to consult your gynecologist. It can also be due to other causes like
hormonal imbalance, thyroid, or PCOS that need evaluation so that you can be treated at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
