What Can Eletone Cream Be Substituted With?

Hi, Could you recommend a substitute for Eletone cream? I was using Mometasone for chronic itching under my arms but my skin was noticeably thinning. My Dermatologist gave me an Eletone sample which worked wonderfully, but is not covered by insurance. She is not aware of any substitutes. Thank you. JD Miller

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Eletone cream is an 'emollient', which contains substances that soften by moisturizing the skin and helps to decrease itching and flaking.
Eletone is a nonsteroidal barrier cream containing 70% lipids dispersed in 30% water, thus providing a high lipid skin barrier.
Alternative to this you may use any of the moisturizer cream which would contain Petrolatum, purified water, mineral oil, cetostearyl alcohol, ceteth-20, citric acid, sodium citrate, propylparaben and butylparaben in emulsion, fragrance-free cream form.
Alternatives that could be suggested include: Aveeno anti-itch cream and Kerol emulsion. Kindly check the ingredients before substituting with other creams.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
