What Can I Do About Persistent Scabies Bumps On The Scrotum Causing Extreme Itching And Swelling?

Hi Doctor, I was diagnosed with scabies last week. I have already completed the treatment prescribed by Dermatologist. Itching and pimple on my body are getting better but bumps on my scrotum are not going away and causing extreme itching and after that those bumps swell. Please suggest what should i do and how long it will take to get rid of it ?

Hello,

Take care of your hygiene. Apply Ascabiol lotion all over the area affected. Leave it for 40-45 minutes, then take bath. Before applying Ascabiol lotion do sensitivity testing of your skin. The persistent itchy bumps will disappear and you will get relief. Do not share your toiletries with anyone. Take bath regularly.

If you have excessive itching you can take antihistamine. apply ointment hydrocortisone on the area affected for relieve from itching. Do not touch, do not scratch and do not pick otherwise it will spread. After 15 days repeat application of Ascabiol lotion on the area affected, leave it for 40-45 minutes and then take bath. it will clear out.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
