What Can I Do For Pain And Swelling In Thyroid Gland On Neck?

I am 63 and have Hypothyroidism. I fell last night and hit my neck on the post of a bench seat. The area where my thyroid is took the full impact of the fall. The puffy area on my neck is swollen and badly bruised. It really hurts when I move around or bend over. I don't know if I should see a doctor or wait. I tried Ice but that just made it hurt more. What can I do for the pain and swelling?

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

I went through your query and understood your concerns.IWith history of trauma to neck and pain on movement definitely needs examination by a doctor. If you were my patient first i would have examined your neck, throat and cervical spine.
X-ray required to see any hyoid bone or spine fracture. If no fracture or other complication just Analgesic and anti inflammatory medication is sufficient for your pain and swelling to reduce.

Regards
