What Can I Do To Relieve Severe Constipation, As Stool Softeners Haven T Helped?

Hi, I have been dealing with constipation. I try and eat but I can never have a bowel movement. When I do it takes about a week or two and sometimes extremely painful. I went to my doctor and they just gave me a stool softener which didn’t help me much. I am hoping you have more to say than they did.
