What Can I Do To Soften The Outer Edge Of My Foot That Has Turned Hard?

On the bottom, outside edge of my foot about mid-way down I ve developed a hardened area about 1/4 square(ish). This hardened area can be very painful and radiates pain from time to time. It feels similar to an open wound on my foot, but clearly is not.

Hello,

It could be a callosity or a corn. I would recommend you to apply a topical solution containing lactic acid and salicylic acid on the affected area twice daily for 2-3 weeks.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Asmeet Kaur Sawhney, Dermatologist
