What Can Be Done For Breathing Problems And Red Eyes After Breathing Smoke?

Hello!
There was a smoke coming out from burning towels. I inhaled a lot during my effort to put it out. I had problems breathing, red eyes and then some headache and a little pain in the chest. Is there something that I should do now and probably check ?

Many thanks!

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Any form of smoke is irritant to the lungs and cause bronchitis (inflammation of airways).
This is the cause for chest pain and breathing difficulty.
Smoke will also cause irritation in eyes and cause reddening of eyes.
So wash your eyes thoroughly with cold water 5-6 times a day.
You will also need anti inflammatory eye drops.
For breathing difficulty, better to consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system.
You will need inhaled treatment in the form of inhaled bronchodilator and inhaled corticosteroids (ICS).
Don't worry, you will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
