Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my uncle suffering with phylaria from 7 years. both legs are effected. recently left leg was looking heavily and some wounds visible and fluids are continuously came out. he is unable to come to hospital because he is residing at 2nd floor and obesity. pl advice.
I guess you are talking of filaria and not "phylaria". There are medications used to treat this condition. But before g.etting there, I will like to get a laboratory confirmation. Drugs like diethylcarbamazine/Mectizan, etc are good medications to treat filaria. There should be a way to at least gey him to the hospital. It is weird to suggest obesity would prevent him from making his way to the hospital
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information should need be. Dr. Ditah, MD.
