What Can Be Done To Lower Bilirubin Range?

Hi, I recently had many chemistry tests performed and they were all within normal range except for my total bilirubin. This has been the case for the past few years. What can I do to lower my total bilirubin so it's within normal range too. My result was 1.4. I am a 35 year old active, healthy, woman.

Hi,
There are certain inherited disorders of bilirubinemia i.e high bilirubin, maybe direct or indirect giving rise to total bilirubin level raise.
If you range is being maintained at 1.4 with all other things being within normal limits, then I would expect it to be a congenital abnormality.
Most of the people, eg: people with Gilbert syndrome have hyperbilirubinemia and it might increase during periods of stress and reverts back to normal at later stages.
Do get it regularly tested annually twice and any increase, we can discuss further.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, do ask again.
