What Can Be The Cause Of Swelling And Pain In My Throat?

Hi, I have no idea what I've caught. One of my glands in the back of my throat is swollen severely, it hurts to swallow and the pain goes from my jaw into my ear. What should I do? This pain progressively gets worse each day yet I have no antibiotics.

Hi welcome to HCM....

Here your swelling could be from enlarge gland or swollen lymph nodes .....

FNAC will be useful to reveal nature of lesion....

Here it mist likely seems to be sialadenitis like infective condition....

Floor of mouth also examined for infection of it ... It will help in rule out Ludwig angina like infective condition if fever also present. ..

Here antibiotic course needs to be given like cefixime 200 mg tablet for 7 days .....

Excess spicy , oily food avoided. ...

Salt water gargles done ....

Consult ENT surgeon with keeping my answer in mind for examination and work up.

Take care ....
