What Can Be The Reason For Feeling Sleepy During Day Time?

I go to bed every night around 930- 10 ish and take half a sleeping pill to fall asleep. My problem is that I get up at 5 in the morning and I feel good when I wake but at work I get so sleepy I can't hold my eyes open by 8 or 9 am, what could be causing this?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
from your complaints it appears a case of night time insomnia with day time sleepiness. You are not able to get complete sleep at night, that had led to daytime somnolence. I suggest you resist sleeping during day time, do not sleep during day.
Once you leave your bed In morning use your bed only to sleep at night.
Do not have tea of caffeinated drinks after 6 pm. Avoid heavy meals in dinner.
Have moderate exercise in morning.
Do not sleep more than 30 min in afternoon.
Use bed only to sleep and for nothing else, if having difficulty falling asleep get up and do something else.
Our aim should be to have complete undisturbed sleep of 8 hrs during night.
Do not increase the dose of sleeping pills.
A consultation to psychiatrist will help you, as he may guide you in having proper sleep hygeine.
