What Can Be The Reason For Lack Of Sleep And Loss Of Weight?

About a year ago I used to take depression pills due to work problems after passing a phase of lack of sleep and weight loss. Since than stopped working and feeling better. Its been over 8 months since I last took depression pills. But lately I have started to loose weight again and sleeping not more than 5 hours daily. In addition I have started to fart excessively. Are these factors indicating that I am about to start another depression phase? ..... even though this time round I have no work stress related? Is 5 hours daily sleep enough?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
hi,
welcome to HCM
considering your history of a prior episode is depression, loss of wieght and decreased sleep is likely due to relapse of existing psychiatric condition.
However, a detailed information regarding your mood and associated symptoms needs to be explored.
Bipolar affective state, recurrent depressive disorder needs to be considered.
As it warrants a detailed and thorough psychiatric work up and evaluation, a psychiatric consultation is very much advisable.

welcome for further suggestions.
