What Can Be The Reason For Pregnancy Even After Abortion?
I m 19 , about 5 4, 11 stone and have perfect health before now. My question is I had an abortion on the 3 of November this year and it seemed to go well , my hospital test came back negative. a didn t get my period so around the end Of November I took about 10 tests on different days hoping they would eventually show negative! All positive! So I went to my doctor, urine test was unclear he told me. Blood test 1 was unclear and I had my results for blood test 2 today which are seemingly still unclear? I don t understand how they can t tell me & I can t figure out what s going on with my body. I know my Hormone count for the first blood test was 13. I dOnt know the second one. is it likely it s a new pregnancy? Or I might have tissue left from my pervious pregnancy? I still havent had a period. it s driving me insane. Thanks for your help x
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Persistence of spotting and hCG levels in the body post abortion can be due to retained products of conception or due to gestational trophoblastic neoplasia. This needs proper examination and investigations including ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis and further management should be done accordingly. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Deepti Verma
