I woke up today with the back of my throat extremely dry. I do not smoke and it is very botheresome to me. I don't know what to do for it. I have been drinking water all day long to get rid of the dryness and it is not working. Any advice would be gratelly appreciated.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain dry throat can occur due to a number of reasons like sleeping with open mouth and doing mouth breathing, very dry climate, dehydration, smoking and tobacco chewing, side effect of medicines, inflammation in throat either due to infection or acid reflux etc. You need to consult an Otolaryngologist and get ruled out for the exact cause of dryness in throat so that treatment can be done to relieve the cause and ultimately the dryness will also resolve.. If you have mouth breathing habit and sleep with open mouth you can do a simple trick by pasting a vertical strip of micropore tape over the closed lips to enforce nasal breathing.. Avoid any tobacco chewing or smoking habit, drink plenty of water..
Hope this information helps..
